Have been cooking for a while now, when i say a while it’s almost a year now. It’s been an year i have been in the UK now. So to commemorate this occasion i tried something new. I decided to bake a cake.. Yes , i have no previous experience in baking. Now when i say no experience have baked only once , had an unsuccessful try at making muffins. Right then, Cake it was.
Well to start with i had to go shopping for right ingredients. With my newest jacket which i purchased only last Friday i set out. And tell you what , someone was watching me at the super market well she was a kiddo so i did not pay much heed to her. Some day that someone will come fingers crossed ya..
Any ways baking cake was fun the preparation time was just 15 min. And baking time was 40 min.
So here is the recipe
SAND CAKE
Ingredient’s
185 g unsalted butter
2 teaspoons natural vanilla extract
250 g caster sugar
185 g self raising flour
60 g rice flour
80 ml milk
1) Preheat the oven to 180 C
2)
Melt the butter in the sauce pan
3)
Mix all the ingredients and beat the mixture well so that it becomes thick and creamy.
4)
Pour the mixture into the greased cake tin and get baking….
5) We need to keep checking on the cake with a skewer till it comes out clean.
6)
After it does remove the cake and turn out on wire rack to cool.
I tasted it after a while it was ok. But i would say too sweet. Only thing i did extra was sprinkled almonds on the sides. I was expecting the almonds to stay at the sides but, but they were all clustered in the center. Lovely looking cake? Do think so..well it’s here at least for your view..
Next time i want to make something new but what that is still a secret. Why because i somehow jinx myself as i was going to make muffins this weekend but ended up making cake..Yes yes that’s better but i really want to make that thing which i have in mind so will put it up here and then you can see.
Bhupendra, That cake looks pretty darn good……
Navendu
